Set out to discover the Vercors
During your stay at Hotel Christiania
Get away from the stress of everyday life in the Vercors, a unique environment which has been listed as a regional natural park since 1970. With its wide range of landscapes, enchanting little villages and wide open spaces, it is the perfect place for a restorative holiday. Right by the hotel, set out to discover the beautiful limestone cliffs (Mont Aiguille, Le Gerbier...), impressive peaks (Le Grand Veymont, La Moucherotte…), and high plateaus (Ramées, Ambel…). On the way, stop off in delightful villages where you can expect a warm welcome (Corrençon en Vercors, Lans en Vercors) and explore an extraordinary cultural heritage (Abbaye de Léoncel, Sassenage Château…).
In summer, discover the Vercors and its wide open spaces on foot, by bike or on horseback. With over 3,000 kilometres of marked footpaths and routes, trekkers can explore the beauty of the forests, pastures and mountains at their leisure. If you're looking for a challenge, try out trail hiking or downhill mountain biking. The park offers over 1,500 kilometres of mountain biking trails and 30 km of downhill tracks. But the range of landscapes is also ideal for other outdoor activities: climbing, hang-gliding, pot-holing, canyoning, and more. In winter, the Vercors wilderness is cloaked in white, inviting you to enjoy the snow with downhill skiing, cross-country skiing and other unusual activities.
