Adjacent to Villard de Lans, the village of Lans en Vercors is one of the main gateways to the Vercors Regional Natural Park. Just 10 minutes from our hotel with a pool, this traditional little village at an altitude of 1000 metres consists of 32 hamlets within a majestic mountain landscape of sloping hillsides dotted with conifers and deciduous trees. Walking along the winding streets in the centre, you’ll discover lovely traditional houses with slate roofs, a beautiful 12th century church that houses a tapestry by the 20th century artist Jean Lurçat and the main information centre for the Vercors Regional Natural Park. Thrill seekers can go to the top of the look-out point, on a footbridge 300 metres above the void for a real adrenaline rush. This unique site in Isère offers an exceptional view of the Vercors and a bird’s eye view of the Grenoble area.
Situated along the ViaVercors, Lans en Vercors will entice you to go hiking. All around the village, there are a number of marked trails that will allow you to discover the numerous natural and historic places of interest, including the Resistance Memorial, the Pont de l’Amour bridge, the Gorges du Bruyant and the Combe du Crêt. You’ll also be able to travel around by donkey, horse, pony or bike. If you prefer seeing things from a greater height, the village climbing school will help to introduce you to climbing. And many more activities await you, including canyoning, caving, via cordata, via ferrata and paragliding. Plus, in winter, the Montagnes de Lans ski area offers you the chance to try Alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, ski touring and snow-shoeing. With its freestyle area, its slalom stadium, its slip and slide area and its snow kindergarten, it is sure to delight young and old alike.
