In winter, Villard de Lans is covered by a white blanket, with the snow transforming the beautiful landscapes of the Vercors into an immense winter playground. For Alpine skiers, the area boasts 34 pistes which offer 125 km of skiable area over a drop of 1000 m. These slopes will thrill beginners and more experienced skiers alike with their wooded environment. Beginners of all ages can learn the basics with instructors from the ESF ski school and enjoy the Cote 2000 sector with its green and blue slopes, especially dedicated to newcomers.
You’ll be able to enjoy Alpine skiing and snowboarding, as well as freestyle skiing within the snowpark and the freeride area. As well as the Alpine ski area, there is another type of skiing you can enjoy in the Villard/Corrençon area – the Haut Vercors Nordic Skiing Area is truly a paradise for lovers of cross-country skiing. Amid tundra-like landscapes reminiscent of the Great Canadian North, discover 110 km of pistes of all levels for ultimate escapism. For beginners, the Villard-Bois Barbu site is especially designed as a fun introduction to cross-country skiing. This learning area also provides opportunities to discover biathlon or Nordic ski touring. And there are many other unique activities that you can discover such as snow-shoeing, Nordic walking, sleigh rides, airboarding, fat biking and ice climbing. Plus, just a short distance from the hotel, you’ll find the leisure centre in Villard de Lans. Open throughout the year, children will love the ice-skating rink and aquatic centre, while adults will love the casino and bowling alley.
